3P Learning/Mathletics (Review)

3P Learning's Mathletics is a web-based math program, helping students enjoy math and improve their results. As part of the TOS Crew, I was given a 45 day Mathletics Subscription to use with my 3 children in grades 2, 4, and 8.

Mathletics is a complete online safe community for students in grades K through 8 where they can learn math while competing with other students online or earn points by working through math problems at their specific grade level.

Each of my students signed up and created a character to represent them on the site at their grade level. They got to choose hair color, eye color, shirt, etc. They enjoyed creating a character that looked like them!

There is also access to additional games at Rainforest Maths, where students can "shop" for clothing and backgrounds for their character with the credits they earn from solving math problems.

There are plenty of games on the site to reinforce math concepts.

I was able to view my students' progress online, as well as receive emails on their progress. I also had to the option of printing out supplemental workbook pages. Immediate feedback with animated step by step support is part of this program. There is also an option for parents to set it up so that students have to do so much work before being able to have access to the fun things available. Although, I know that my kids said that it was all fun!

There is the option of printing certificate awards for your students too. There are plenty of incentives on this site to keep kids wanting to do more math!

All of my students enjoyed using Mathletics, they especially liked competing with other students from around the globe! They found the math fun, but a little bit easy for their grade level at times, especially my 8th grader. I think this is a fun program if you have a student who enjoys doing math on the computer, or a math-hater that wants math to be more fun.

Mathletics is supportive of homeschooling, a big plus for homeschoolers, in my book! There is more information available on their website.

Mathletics is an internet subscription based product, with a price of $59 per student per year. If you know the Human Calculator’s favorite number (hint: it’s ‘9’!) and you enter that when asked, you can purchase a single child subscription for $49.95 for a year at their website.
