Field Trip Earth

logo

Field Trip Earth is a FREE site where your students can take a virtual field trip around the earth to explore ongoing wildlife conservation projects around the world. Some of the projects are “live” in that researchers are currently active in the field. There are also archived projects where students can read articles, view photos, videos, and other materials related to that project. Students can read the researchers’ field diaries, direct questions and receive answers from the researchers, listen to recorded satellite phone calls and other communications. They are also able to see video taken in the field, and discuss conservation issues with them.

This site is so interactive, that it’s like the students are part of the research team out in the field. And, they be can be part of it all right from their computer!

Plenty of projects and information on wildlife, geography, and much, much more can be found at Field Trip Earth. There are many learning opportunities, and educator resources available for both teacher and student. Check out this FREE resource today!

This sounds so neat! We are going to be studying animals and 'zoo' themes for a couple months this fall, so I am excited to see this resource. Thanks!

Thanks for pointing this out! I'll have to look at it because it sounds like it will fit an upcoming unit I"m planning.
