Travel Kits Review

travelkits_cover_sm
I was blessed by the TOS Crew to have the opportunity to review the eBook "The Old Schoolhouse Travel Kits – a Simple Way to Bless Others”. This product couldn’t have come at a better time for our family. My husband just started a new job about an hour and a half away from our home. While he is working up there, the kids and I will be driving back and forth to stay with him for a couple of days at a time. We will be keeping up with 2 homes for the summer, and doing a lot of traveling in the car. This can take its toll on young children, especially. But, if they have something to keep them happy and occupied, what a world of difference a travel kit will make!

The author of the eBook Travel Kits has shared some very creative and ingenious ideas for creating Travel Kits for any family. There are ideas and suggestions for creating Travel Kits for your own family, as well as other families you may know.

These Travel Kits can fit all family types and all ages, from toddlers to teens to grownups!

There are clear instructions and suggestions as well as tons of photos on what to include in creating your own travel kits for families that are traveling anywhere…to a beach vacation..to visit family…college students going away to school…anywhere they happen to be going.  There are plenty of ideas for all kinds of folks such as:
  • your own family
  • grandchildren
  • big families and small families
  • students
  • neighbors
  • coaches
  • church families
  • fellow homeschoolers
…or just about anyone that you’d like to bless with a Travel Kit!

These travel kits can be adapted to fit any type of traveling you are doing, whether it be by car, plane, train, or boat!

There are many ideas for creating inexpensive travel kits, and creative containers and packaging. Instructions are included on using different types of packaging to create kits that look appealing to the receiver. There are ideas and instructions for creating themed kits too, such as for those going to the beach, college students, kits for boys, kits for girls, kits for teens, kits based on books, or animals,  kits with a biblical theme, and much much more. Lots of ideas are also shared on how to present the gifts in the kit while on the trip. There ideas for toys, games, even snacks to include in the kits. The possibilities are endless..and the author does a great job of getting it all started with her own creativity that she shares in this extremely organized and helpful eBook.

There are plenty of clickable links in the eBook as well for more resources online. Also included is a helpful website list for traveling families, recipes, recommended books for reading while traveling, and travel tips contributed by fellow  homeschoolers.

Since our 2nd home is near the beach, first I’m going to create a “beach” themed kit with instructions from this eBook. I plan on including the following for my kids, whose ages range from 8-13.
  • goggles
  • water toys
  • sunscreen
  • sand toys
  • decorative water bottles
  • sunglasses
  • magazines or books
  • Frisbee
  • beach balls
I think I’ll put these in a beach pail with a shovel for each one of my children!

I also plan on creating a kit for the car with activities and books and little games they can use while we are on the road so much this summer. I will also use the author’s ideas for snacks to include too.

The possibilities are endless..and the author of this eBooks gives wonderful, helpful instructions, making it easy for me to create any type of travel kit I want to use for my own family, and other families too! This eBook can be used by youth to adults to create travel kits for friends and family. Items to complete your own travel kits will need to be purchased separately. This product is an eBook only.

You can purchase your own "The Old Schoolhouse Travel Kits – a Simple Way to Bless Others” eBook at The Old Schoolhouse Store website HERE for $12.45. It’s a downloadable (93 page!) eBook product that will be available immediately after purchase!

This is a great idea for traveling with little kids. My dh worked about that far from home for years when we lived in California. Part of the time we had one car. My kids and I would drop him off and pick him up each day. Coming home could take over two hours and on Fridays it could be four.

The nice thing about having a kit like that available is that you can go to the beach at almost a moment's notice!
